General Description
The data-psychiatric-disorders-mbi dataset is based on a systematic review and meta-analysis of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) for psychiatric disorders. For this review, MBIs were defined as interventions in which mindfulness meditation is a core component, with home meditation practice as a treatment ingredient. Interventions combining mindfulness with other modalities (e.g., mindfulness and cognitive techniques, as in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy [MBCT]; Segal, Williams, & Teasdale, 2002) were also included.
The dataset contains study characteristics and effect size data from randomized controlled trials that report the effect of MBIs on disorder-specific symptoms in clinical populations. This dataset includes comparisons of psychotherapy with no treatment, minimal treatment, non-specific active control, specific active control, and evidence-based treatment.
The date of the last search update is provided here. The results of the meta-analysis can be found in this published article. The dataset follows the MetaCIH data standard. All included information has been independently extracted by two researchers.
